The Logo was thought to be stylized and you are right: a more realistic approach on the twig would have made it look different. But the focus lies indeed on the typographical composition and to keep it simple yet recognizeable.

Try to use a more loosely drawn font that fits with the stroke of the mark. This one looks too solid.

As stated above, change the type to a clear sans serif that fits with the cube.
Include a cube without the gradients, a gray version and try a black & white version as well.
The cube is really good though!

This is really nice! Would like it even better if his feet were hanging a bit more loosely in the air since he is floating. But good work nonetheless.
